Bio
Hi, I’m Felipe Jean-Mairet — a Swiss cinematographer who accidentally turned his love for playing with cameras and light into a full-time job (still wondering how I pulled that off). For the past decade I’ve been behind the lens on commercials and documentaries, working with folks like Paramount, National Geographic, CBS, BHP, and Zero Point Zero Production Inc. My stuff has wandered into film festivals (DocMX, Water Docs, Lima Film Festival) and even snuck its way onto Netflix.
I’ve got a soft spot for documentaries — real people, messy stories, unpredictable moments — but my years shooting commercials trained me to make anything look cinematic. Muddy Amazon river? No problem. Boardroom full of nervous executives? Done. A plate of ceviche? Don’t even get me started.
I speak Spanish, English, and German (sometimes all in the same sentence), and after years working across Latin America, I’m back in Switzerland looking for new projects, new collaborators, and new excuses to pull out my camera.
